POSITION SUMMARY (include other positions that report to this position) This position is responsible for coordinating the care of assigned patients including assessment, implementation, and documentation under the supervision of the RN. The LPN is responsible for delegating to and supervising the job classes of: Student Nurse Tech, Nursing Assistant, and Unit Secretary. The LPN assists in the orientation of new staff and clinical supervision of nursing students. This position has exposure to body fluids, radiation and communicable disease. The majority of work time is spent standing and/or walking of short distances, with frequent pulling and pushing and lifting of up to 100 lbs, and carrying of up to 25 lbs. The patient populations served include: adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, with the majority of patients being adults and geriatrics. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED Arkansas LPN license, CPR DESCRIBE THE SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program with Arkansas license as an LPN. Completion of CPR is required. Basic dysrthymia course is recommended but not required. ACLS is recommended, but not required. |
