POSITION SUMMARY -

The admissions clerk insures that accurate patient information is collected from outpatients, inpatients and emergency department patients. In addition, the clerk is responsible for explaining hospital admission policies and HIPAA to patients and their families. This position has exposure to communicable disease and bodily fluids. This position spends the majority of time sitting, with frequent walking of short distances. This position is responsible for utilizing computer systems upon competency training.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED N/A

DESCRIBE THE SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION- The position requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and communicate effectively, as usually demonstrated by completion of high school studies or a GED and one year of experience in an office setting. In addition, familiarity with medical terminology is strongly preferred.

 Additional Information

Weekend and/or Holiday Rotation may be required.
Rotating Shifts may be required.
