The admissions clerk insures that accurate patient information is collected from outpatients and inpatients. In addition, the clerk is responsible for explaining the clinic policies and HIPAA to patients and their families. This position has exposure t communicable disease and bodily fluids. This position spends the majority of time sitting, with frequent waling of short distances. This position is responsible for utilizing computer systems upon competency training. The position requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and communicate effectively, as usually demonstrated by completion of high school studies or a GED and one year of experience in an office setting. In addition, familiarity with medical terminology is strongly preferred. |
